“…Your gentleness has made me great.” Psalm 18:35

{about me}

I am…

Wife to the first and only man I’ve ever dated.  I am so proud to be his wife!

Mama to one beautiful and funny little girl

Following (often clumsily) the Lover of my soul, Jesus

A joyful homemaker

Vegan (and loving it)

I love…

Expressing myself through writing

Baking.  Muffins, quick breads, bread loaves, vegetables, casseroles…I don’t know what I would do without an oven!

Good, local, fresh food.  The kind of food that has a story.  The kind of food you have to go out of your way to get and make

Sewing…and getting better

Reading to learn, grow and do (see goodreads to the right)

Things as close to nature as possible

Making room for laid back simple pleasures, like bubbles…or picnics

Weekend mornings at the farmer’s market.

Anything old and worn, and I love antique shopping

Anything with cilantro and lime

Sharing my life through beautiful snapshots

God’s Word

Toys scattered throughout the house.  It reminds me I am a mother (Read my reflections on motherhood here)

I hope…

To inspire you to be intentional about your life.  Live simply.  Enjoy the small pleasures

To point you with my life and my words to the outrageous, open love of God

That everyday I’m creating a gentle home for my family.  A place where God’s Spirit rests, a place of peace, of joy, of good food and creativity.  A place of warm nurturing and nourishing

To become more gentle and kind in my living every day- gentle to the environment, gentle to others, gentle to my family

You will join me in this journey!  Please leave a comment, I would love to hear from you!

What a wonderful description! of what a wonderful home should be like. You are entering the most wonderful time of life. I envy you. I wish I could go back and start over. It has all gone by so fast. I have two children. A son who is 30! and daughter who is 23. Oh and the most wonderful and beautiful 5 year old grandson. Nice to meet you. Thanks for stooping by my blog and leaving a comment.

Thanks! I hope my home will one day be what I envision. My husband and I (well mostly my husband) has been fixing the place up because of its much needed repairs. Time does fly though, but I don’t think its ever too late to slow down and enjoy life!

Your other picture was lovely, it had beautiful mother and daughter in it. I hope you didn’t take my comments as a complaint, they were certainly not. But, this picture is in alignment with the overall statement of your writing, and it makes me smile. Have a great day! Oh, and I have posted three of your pages, thank you allowing me that, come check it out.

No, not at all as a complaint. The Bible talks a lot (In Proverbs) about receiving instruction or correction…I think it is too easy for us to get defensive when we shouldn’t. Like I said, the thought had already crossed my mind anyway 🙂 Thank you for sharing my pages, I will check out your blog!
